Gaels & Liberty will meet again for the Nevada title after strong wins

The Arbor View Aggies came to the field ready to play as they traded scores with the Gaels though the first quarter and a half behind big plays by linebacker/fullback Andrew Wagner.

Wagner produced a receiving touchdown on the first drive before the following drive produced a 43-yard field goal by Carter Andrade. Despite 140-yards with two receiving scores by Jalen Nailor on the Gaels first two drives, the game locked in at just 14-10 in favor of the Gaels.

Gorman would gift the Aggies a chance to control the game when the proceeded to turn the ball over on downs at their own 16-yard line but the defense would hold before a short field goal by Andrade sailed left in the wind. Wagner would follow up with an interception at the Gael’s 41 but the Gaels produced a second stand stopping the Aggies short at the 32.

That would open the door for Gaels traditional second quarter surge when a short Biaggio Ali-Walsh touchdown with just under a minute left. That would be followed by a Greg Francis interception that would lead to a third touchdown pass by Tate Martell when he struck Brevin Jordan in the end zone from 23 out to allow Gorman to take a 28-10 halftime lead to the locker room.

Ali-Walsh would see just 14-second come off the clock in the second half as he broke off a 90-yard sprint to the end zone to open the second half as the Gaels broke the game open with a 35-10 lead versus the ball control based Aggies.

From there, the Gaels decided to wear down the Aggies on their next drive with a consuming drive capped by a short Martell to Dorian Thompson-Robinson pass to go up 42-10.

The Aggies would produce another physical drive that fell short in the red zone but a forced fumble put the ball back in the hands quickly before Hayden Bollinger added his second touchdown pass of the game with to Greg Welchman for 29-yards out to make it a respectable 42-17 with 5 minutes left in the game but the Gaels with come out firing to pad the score.

Another Martell to Nailor touchdown pass and a Amod Cianelli run would make the final score 56-17 as the Gaels move on to another Nevada title contest.


Liberty wins a battle to the wire over Damonte Ranch

The surging Northern Champion Damonte Ranch Mustangs gave the Sunrise Champion Liberty Patriots all they can handle as the Patriots used a big forced fumble by Dariyen Sample to secure a victory on the road.

Underclass star quarterback Kenyon Oblad (Liberty) and Cade McNamara (Damonte Ranch) managed a great game between the programs as Oblad threw for two scores as he allowed the Patriots to produce a balanced attack to control the game keyed by three Ethan Dedeaux scores rushing and receiving.

McNamara produced huge plays in the second half including a 60-yard score to Robert Garlock while star junior Dru Jacobs topped 100-yards receiving but the late stop allowed the Patriots to walk away with a 30-27 victory as the move on to face the Gaels in the Nevada Championship game.
