Nevada postseason: Top 2017 Class DL Prospects

The 2017 class of Nevada defensive linemen features two 4-star prospects at the top and will be looking to continue to join the ranks of successful stars to become impact players with a good flow to the NFL. With good depth as well, there are a handful of player looking to garner more options in January.

DL Haskell Garrett Bishop Gorman 6’2 290

54 tackles 8 sacks 1 int

Career: 183 tackles 26 sacks 1 int

Ultra quick with great explosion and upper body strength, Garrett had the biggest individual impact of any Gael in the run of National Title selections. He has had outstanding production and requires a double team to keep him out of the backfield.

Committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes, he will have every opportunity to reach his full potential in college.


DT Greg Rogers Arbor View 6’4 305

59 tackles 6 sacks

Career: 181 tackles 14 sacks

A pure interior defensive lineman, Rogers is a physically strong player on the interior that can tie up blockers get penetration off the snap. Well built with great bulk, he has strong hands and does a good job anchoring versus the double team.

A UCLA commit, Rogers should see an opportunity to compete early for a spot at the top of the rotation right away.


DL T.J. Mauga Churchill County 6’5 260

73 tackles 8 sacks

Career: 195 tackles 20 sacks

A prototype strong side defensive end, Mauga is a very strong player that plays with leverage with the ability to beat the double team to seal the edge. With very good speed, he has been a great pass rusher off the edge who delivers as a sure tackler.

With several FBS options to choose from, Mauga is an impact caliber player that will also be ready to compete early in college.


DE Brock Hershberger Green Valley 6’3 235

68 tackles 10 sacks

Career: 190 tackles 22 sacks

A high effort football player off the edge, Hershberger has very good speed off the edge with great skill as a pass rusher. He has developed an array of pass rush moves that allows him to consistently gain penetration on pass rush downs and is a physical player versus the run with speed to make plays in pursuit.

Holding offers from Cornell, San Diego and Adams State; Hershberger will have the opportunity have the opportunity to continue to put his skill on display in the future.


DE/OLB Anthony Jamar Parker Damonte Ranch 6’2 215

94 tackles 10 sacks 1 int

Career: 143 tackles 14 sacks 1 int

With added muscle and bulk as a senior, Parker had outstanding production off the edge as a speedy athlete that can make plays in pursuit. He brings a great motor and high confidence, he brings outstanding burst and quick hands that allow him to quickly defeat blocks. He also displays great hips and outstanding upper body strength.

Parker currently hold two D2 offer and has been a sleeper since emerging late. He is a great looking football player that has high upside that should see more options to continue to emerge.


DL Jalen Graves Desert Pines 6’2 240

44 tackles 10 sacks

Career: 127 tackles 17 sacks

A physical player off the edge with quickness and burst, Graves is a smart player with great instincts at defensive end. Combining great leverage and upper body power, he is a strong run defender that is a strong tackler. He has the ability to get after the passer and closes on the ball quickly in space.

An Idaho Vandal commit, Graves will be looking to work his way in the mix quickly on defense.


DE Jacob Fulton Basic 6’6 210

69 tackles 2 sacks 2 int

Career: 84 tackles 2 sacks 2 int

A first year starter for the Wolves, Fulton showcased his athleticism off the edge with a high motor and good speed. With great length and long arms, he is a threat to bat down passes and has plenty of physical upside as he adds quality bulk in the future.

A power player, Henderson is a force when motivated with good speed and the ability to overwhelm opposing linemen in the trenches. A run stuffer, he has the ability to tie up double teams and can be be disruptive in one-on-one situations. He has a tendency to take downs off as a two way player but shows the talent to be a standout as an interior lineman on either side of the ball.

NG Junior Pousima Hug 6’1 295

28 tackles 3 sacks

Career: 94 tackles 6 sacks

Pousima is a pure nose guard that can tie of blockers and stuff the run in the middle. He has limited long range speed but he has good effort in pursuit does a good job locating the football. He plays with good leverage and use his strength to consistently overwhelm opposing linemen.


DE/LB Skye Parker Legacy 6’2 220

63 tackles 6 sacks

Parker emerged as a senior as a high energy player with impressive speed and explosion off the edge. He is a force versus the run that plays with good leverage and proved to be very disruptive behind the line of scrimmage. With good skill as a pass rusher, he is a small program prospect to

A good mix of effort and speed, Gray had a productive senior season making plays behind the line of scrimmage and in pursuit. He has good instincts and is a very good tackler that shows impressive feet.

More likely to see options at the D2 or NAIA, he is a player that can see options develop.
