Spring Recruiting: Several Nevadans committed to MWC Football programs

Several Nevadans committed to Mountain West Football programs during the spring evaluation period. Continuing the trend of strong classes out of the state, here is a look at the early commits.

San Diego State

Coming off a season in which he led the Liberty Patriots to their first Nevada title, powerful running back Zyrus Fiaseu plans to take his talents to San Diego State. At 6-foot 210-pounds, Fiaseu is an outstanding athlete with power and acceleration out of the backfield. He brings position versatility and rushed for 1026-yards and 17-touchdowns as a while also logging 3 interceptions on defense.

Nevada

The Wolf Pack logged a new arm with the commitment of Bishop Manogue quarterback Drew Scolari. Scolari has led the Miners to back-to-back regional titles as an accurate passer with great game management skills. Passing for over 4311 yards and 52- touchdowns the past two season, he is also a legacy player who is the grandson of legendary Head Coach Chris Ault.

Slipping into Southern Nevada, the Pack also logged a commit from rising star Dion Washington out of Shadow Ridge. Washington has outstanding raw talent off the edge with great pursuit speed and the instincts to develop into a highly productive player off the edge.

Colorado State

The Rams found some great offensive talent out of the state of Nevada grabbing commitments from quarterback Evan Oleas (Legacy HS) and wide receiver Garick Robinson (Centennial HS).

Olaes put up huge numbers as a junior logging 4338 yards and 40 touchdowns in total offense. Well coached, he shows outstanding patience and the ability to transition though multiple reads in the pocket with the arm strength to make plays downfield. As a 1000-yard rusher, his ability to make plays with his legs are a major plus.

Robinson is a high volume pass catcher that can make plays in space with great hands and route running skills. He plays smart with a great feel for the chain and the quickness to gain separation in the slot.

Fresno State

The Bulldogs grabbed commitment from a very talented running back in Malik Brooks. He’s a smooth runner with a great frame and the acceleration to develop into a very productive player in college. Sharing the ball with 4-star Javantae Barnes, Brooks showed his versatility making noise as both a pass catcher and play-maker out of the backfield.
