STG Double Header this weekend

It's a huge week in high school football as we get ready to enter championship week and Nevada Prep Report will have an exciting double header for Scouting the Game.
So far this season Bishop Gorman is the only major team that has yet to be covered in the Scouting the Game segment. With the preeminent battle with Palo Verde upcoming, the Foothill/Basic game was bumped up to allow coverage of this weeks battle between the Gaels and Panthers.

Both teams enter the game loaded with talent and the Gael offensive line has keyed a monster season for the Gaels on offense. Victor Belen and Shaquille Powell have rarely had to consistently make plays within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage this season as they breezed through opposing defenses for over 11 yards a carry.
On the other side, the Panthers have been forced to deal with adversity all season landing as a #2 seed barely overcoming division foe Cimarron while falling to Legacy. They have a monster backfield however that can test the Gaels on the edge with two 1000-yard rusher of their own is Chappell Thomas and Brandon Wright. They have Tyrone Blake as well who is closing in on the 1000-yard mark while getting it done as a dangerous returner and star safety.
Defensively, both teams are impressive. The Gaels depend on a speedy group of linemen to set the tone while Palo Verde was a rising star in former Gael Dillon Chaisson in the middle allowing the Panthers to use its depth in the backfield.
Overall, this is a true toss up game that one of the teams will likely take control near the end and roll to victory down the stretch.
There will be also a game two for Scouting the Game with a trip to Overton on Saturday to see the best quarterback duel of the week with Fernley's Bryce Baker and Moapa Valley's Kelan Weiss. Both team's are truly among the best in the 3A with Moapa Valley winning four out of the last six state titles.
In the first game of the season this contest was decided by one point at Fernley and this time it is for a trip to the title game.
Other must see action this week will be:
Cimarron at Legacy-The first game was decided a penalty do over on the final play of the game allowing Legacy to go undefeated this season.
McQueen at Reed-McQueen will be looking to avenge an early season loss that sparked Reed to go 8-0 since.
Liberty at Canyon Springs-Liberty pulled off a 21-13 victory at home in week three of the season.
