STG: Jefferson & Walker standout in a defensive battle

In a physical North Las Vegas defensive battle, Legacy and Mojave had several players that stepped up to battle in a game that wasn’t decided until the fourth quarter. Neither team is loaded with highly rated player entering the season but both produced standouts in the contest.

Legacy Longhorns


RB Samuel Turner Legacy 5’9 185

Turner's STG Highlights

A downhill runner, Turner shows great lower body strength and good speed as a runner. He has the ability to break tackles and fight for extra yard to good discipline as a runner getting stronger in the fourth quarter.

Turner can be highly productive as a senior with the ability to garner FCS or D2 four year options.

DT Noah Jefferson Legacy 5’9 235

Jefferson is undersized but plays with great upper body strength with quickness and agility to be disruptive. Highly active, he does a good job locating the football and using good fundamentals.

Jefferson is definitely an honors candidate with the skill to be very productive this season. He is a lighter version of former Gael Tim Wilkerson (NAU) and should garner some NAIA looks.

DE/OLB Skye Parker Legacy 6’2 220

Parker's STG Highlights

A versatile defensive edge player, Parker has good explosiveness and energy with the speed to get around the corner. He plays with good strength and leverage at the point of attack allowing him to makes plays behind the line of scrimmage versus the run.

With impressive speed along with good size, Parker is a player to watch this season that could make his way to an FBS roster similar to Coronado’s Justin Belknap at Arizona.

LB Jalen Alapati Legacy 6’0 240

Alpati's STG Highlights

Alapati lacks impressive lateral quickness but he is a strong player attacking up field. A smart football player, Alapati has good instincts and plays with good physicality.

Built more like a future defensive lineman, Alapati is a player that could land in the trenches with further development.



Mojave Rattlers


ILB Don Phillips II Mojave 5’10 210

Phillips' STG Highlights

An instinctive player with strong tackling skill and good upper body strength, Phillips is a well built linebacker prospect that is effective versus the run. He has the ability to play in space and does a good job taking on blocks

Phillips is a great NAIA type prospect that can make an impact similar to Isiah Carter at Southern Oregon University

SS Tawee Walker Mojave 5’9 185 (2019)

A sophomore, Walker had an outstanding first two week showing the speed and explosiveness to impact the game. He plays with great energy showing the ability to play to the whistle and has very good instincts. Whether rushing the passer, attacking the run or playing the pass; Walker gets to the ball and he has the potential to be a top 15 prospect as a senior.

Ath Taiwan Braden III Mojave 5’10 165

Braden's STG Highlights

Arguably the Rattlers top senior, Braden does it all. Whether running, receiving, passing or tackling; Braden steps up to get it done. He has excellent feet and is very elusive with the ball in his hands with very good speed.

Position versatility make Braden a player to watch

OG Jared Shaw Legacy 6’4 315

Shaw has good bulk and strength as an offensive lineman but needs to improve his lateral ability. He brings good effort.

DT Jaycob Chambers Legacy 6’2 280 (2018)

An impressive junior, Chambers is a strong run defender that shows the ability to gain penetration in the trenches.

CB Amorey Foster Legacy 5’6 155 (2019)

A sophomore standout on the edge at corner, Foster produced several big plays on the edge showing good coverage skills.

S Quavion Arnold Legacy 6’0 175

An active player versus the run, Arnold has good athletic skills that brings good size as well.

RB/LB Khalid Walker Mojave 6’0 205

A tough player on both sides of the ball, Walker has good speed and is a strong tackler off the edge.

OT Dylan Mleynek Mojave 6’5 265 (2018)

Mleynek has an excellent frame and looked impressive as an individual blocker on a still developing offensive line.

DE Antonyo Thrower Mojave 6’2 205 (2018)

Thrower flashed good ability off the edge getting into the backfield and being disruptive.

FS John Harper Mojave 6’3 160 (2018)

Another junior, Harper has good pass coverage skill and great length. He is a good player versus the run with physical upside in the weight room.
