Arbor View defensive back Mike Sims and Silverado linebacker Jordan Walker both decided to commit to the program over the weekend with both having very high upside on the football field.

A two year starter for the Aggies, the 6-foot-2 185-pound Sims will have the opportunity to rejoin his brother Alex Sims in the Thunderbird secondary. One of the Nevada’s top defensive backs as a senior, Sims has the physical skills to be an immediate impact player in the secondary with the versatility to play on the edge or develop as a safety.

A transfer to Silverado from Hawaii, Walker is a physical inside linebacker with great athletic ability at the second level. A heavy hitter, the 6-foot-2 220-pounder has the ability to cover in space and is a strong tackler. He has a good body and great frame, but will need likely need a redshirt year before he is ready to rise on the depth chart.

Northern Arizona locks in Whittle

The Lumberjacks haven’t been as heavy of a presence in Nevada but they have found success recruiting the area and Liberty’s Dahmany Whittle should continue that success.

A sleeper among linebacker prospects, the 6-foot 200-pounder has position versatility along with impressive athletic skills and instincts. A strong tackler, Whittle logged 8-sacks as a senior for the Sunrise Champion Patriots in an aggressive scheme that routinely produced big plays,

With a great frame, Whittle should have the chance to develop into a starter with the ability to play linebacker or shift to strong safety in the future.
