Three Nevadans commit to Big Sky programs

Three Nevadans chose to head to the Big Sky in recent weeks to join a growing number of impact players making a name for themselves at the FCS level.

Southern Utah grabs two

Arbor View star linebacker Billy Davis and Moapa Valley pass catcher Derek Reese committed to the Southern Utah Thunderbirds over the last two days.

At 6’1 215, Davis is a player that has a chance to be an immediate contributor on defense after emerging as a force as a senior. An all-around player with great athletic skill and awareness, Davis logged 10 sacks and 3 picks as a senior for the Aggies.

Reese is a large framed pass catcher, Reese has the versatility to develop as a large receiver or converting to the tight end position. He has skill that can make him a candidate to make an impact early in his career but would benefit from a redshirt season to fill out his frame.

Idaho State grabs a Patriot

Not long ago, Nevada wasn’t a target area for the Bengals but the program has a growing number of rising stars on the roster and added their second of the 2019 class in Liberty’s defensive lineman Luke Toomalatai. An energy player, Toomalatai has outstanding quickness and burst at the point of attack that makes him very disruptive on the defensive side of the football.

With a ready now level of physicality, he is a player that has the ability to gain reps early in college and could develop into an elite defender over the course of his career.
