Bakari Smith leads Shadow Ridge over Spring Valley

The Spring Valley football team were able to jump out to a head start versus Shadow Ridge on Homecoming when quarterback Brant Berglund rolled into the end zone from 6-yards out but the Mustangs had different plans for the finish line.
Shadow Ridge running back Ryan Johnson go the scoring started on the ensuing drive when he found room to scamper into the end zone from 66-yards out to tie the game to close the first quarter.

From there, star transfer Bakari Smith took over helping the team roll to a win with a 10-yard run allowing the Mustangs to take a 14-7 lead.
Smith added the finishing blows in the game in the third quarter scoring from 7-yards out as well as adding a 32-yard toss to Jay Henderson to take a commanding 28-7 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Mustangs second team add a late scoring drive with Andrew Kesi adding another 7 -points giving the team a 35-7 lead before a final minute pass from Berglund to Christain Tesi would provide a more respectable closing score at 35-14.
Smith has had a huge season after transferring from Cheyenne with 1536-yards through the air and 741-yards on the ground. With 27-touchdown so far this season, Smith has been a major impact player and one of the most productive players in the state.
