Four Nevada football stars committed to college programs this week

All-Time passing yards leader with 11,819 career yards, Liberty HS quarterback Kenyon Oblad has decided to to stay home to play for the UNLV Rebels.

With 116 passing touchdowns over the course of his career, Oblad led the Patriots to four straight Sunrise Conference titles after emerging as the programs starter as a true freshman. With victories over nationally ranked out of state opponents Saguaro (AZ), Westlake (TX) and Mililani (HI) over the course of his high school career, he is a battle tested player on the field.

Highly competitive, Oblad is a strong armed passer that brings all the skills needed to develop into standout player in college. He is expected to graduate from high school this month and enroll for the spring semester.

Oblad held offers from BYU, San Diego State, Colorado State, Nevada and Western Kentucky over the course of the recruiting process.

Former Palo Verde Panther stars commit

Two former Palo Verde Panthers made their college commitments with Orange Coast CC offensive lineman Kyler Hack and Pasadena City CC Jordan Bruner coming off the recruiting board.

Kyler Hack has decided to take his talents to Utah State. At 6’5 300, he is an excellent athlete with position versatility on the front line and a great power. He joins a program that will be very senior heavy next season. A sophomore to be, he has 4 years to play 3 in college and should emerge as a starter after a year of seasoning.

An outstanding athlete at tight end, Bruner proved to be a playmaker at the junior college level with clutch hands in traffic. He has committed to Abilene Christian where he should enter the mix right away at the tight end position next season.

Carson star Running Back chooses College Baseball  

The leading rusher in Nevada large school division, Carson running back Abel Carter has had a stellar career in both football and baseball over the course of his high school career. This season he led Nevada in rushing yards with 1902-yards as well as 18 touchdowns on the ground following up an 1887-yard junior season.

For all his accolades on the football field, his athleticism as a baseball third baseman has drawn an offer from the Pac-12 Washington State with Carter choosing to continue his career in the sport where he has the opportunity to blossom.
