Lewis leads Cheyenne past the Crusaders

At Faith Lutheran, did a commendable job of attempting to contain Cheyenne's Myloe Lewis but Nevada's leading rusher couldn't be contained long as he exploded for 244-yards and 5 touchdowns to lead the Desert Shields to a 40-14 victory.
Lewis had great production in the first half rushing the ball for 84-yards with scores from 43 and 7 yards out. They were hard fought yards however, as the Crusaders made just enough plays to keep the score close as Cheyenne entered the half up 20-0 including a Devin Tatum score to open the game.

The Crusaders opened the second half strong after recovering the opening second half kick. An explosive screen pass from Jacob Deaville to Sean Bishel had the Crusaders looking strong down 20-7 but that was as close as thing would get.
Lewis would explode in the third quarter scoring from 45, 7 and 75 yard out over the next ten minutes as the Desert Shields closed the quarter with a 40-7 lead.
The Crusaders would add a late Deaville to Anthony Pryatel-Farmer touchdown pass but that was all she wrote for the Crusaders who still locked in a place in the playoffs.
For Cheyenne, the win locked the program in for the inaugural Sunset 1A title as Lewis has exploded to a state leading 1568 yards and 25 scores to lead the high scoring offense.
Cheyenne will close the regular season versus visiting Clark while the Crusaders finish off at Western.
