Nevada postseason: Top 2017 Class Cornerback Prospects

The Nevada 2017 cornerback class features a great group of corners with three currently committed to FBS programs more capable of joining them. Well tested with great depth, here is a breakdown of the corners to watch:

Alex Perry Bishop Gorman 5’11 165

24 tackles

Career: 103 tackles 4 int 1 sack

Ultra competitive with smooth hips and great foot quickness, Perry has been a mainstay at corner since emerging as a sophomore. He has plenty of big game experience and positional intelligence to rise as an early contributor.

Committed to Arizona State where he will have the opportunity to join his older brother Armand Perry in the secondary, he should enter school with a high amount of familiarity.


Malik Hausman Bishop Gorman 5’11 175

Career: 59 tackles 4 int

Committed to the Arizona Wildcats, Hausman lost his senior season to injury after an accident during a visit to the campus but he should be able to make his mark in college.

A physical player, Hausman is a strong run defender out of the secondary that is a sure tackler in space. With excellent quickness, ball skills and anticipation; he has great upside on the edge once he is back to full health.


Mike Sims Arbor View 6’2 185

25 tackles 2 int 1 TD (8 rec 122 yds 0)

Career: 60 tackles 7 int 1 td

A large corner with position versatility, Sims is a physical player that has great ball skills and length on the edge. He is adept playing in man or zone coverage with showing great speed and strong open field tackling skills.

With options on the table, Sims will have the opportunity to blossom on the collegiate level after a great high school career


Tony Wallace Desert Pines 5’11 180

7 tackles 2 int (16 rec 265 yards 16.5 avg 3 tds)

An excellent athlete, Wallace has very impressive physical skills with quickness and a great burst when attacking upfield. He shows impressive leaping skill and aggressiveness in coverage with good hands.

Also committed to the Arizona Wildcats, Wallace has been a hot prospect that will be looking to develop into an impact player in college.



Devin Gaddy Chaparral 5’10 180

42 tackles 6 int 3 tds (38 rec 788 yds 20.7 avg 13 tds)

Gaddy turned in an outstanding senior season for the Cowboys covering the slot showing a knack for creating big plays on both sides of the ball. An aggressive player, he shows great football instincts and plays with great energy in the secondary along with being a sure tackler. With position versatility, Gaddy could see his options open up in before Signing Day.


Eric Williams Las Vegas 6’0 170

25 tackles 5 int 2 tds

Career: 55 tackles 6 int 2 tds

Bringing impressive speed, Williams stood out with good awareness and instincts in the secondary. With good length and long arms, he has the ball skills to be effective in coverage seeing time at both corner and safety for the Wildcats.


Kwan Carter Western 5’11 165

48 touches 531 yds 2 tds offense

An excellent leaper with impressive speed, Carter has impressive skill and overall ability but played for a struggling program. He’s a high effort player, he has the acceleration and feet to develop into a productive player in the secondary.



Bryce Hampton Centennial 6’0 175

30 tackles 1 int (22 rec 440 yards 6 tds)

Career: 49 tackles 3 int (26 rec 476 yards 6 tds)

A standout athlete, Hampton is a playmaker in the secondary that’s well built and plays with confidence. He brings excellent feet and good hands while being a great form tackler on the edge.


Derionte Green Cheyenne 5’9 170

26 tackles 2 int (125 touches 908 yds 7 tds offense)

Career: 53 tackles 4 int (136 touches 1112 yards 11 tds)

With excellent quickness and impressive speed, Green shows impressive coverage skill in the secondary with good awareness. He shows willingness to be aggressive attacking the run and has good leaping ability.
