Just a junior, Mora led the Sunset conference in rushing, scoring and carries this season. In the process he led the once dormant Trailblazer to a number two seed and one of the most impressive turnarounds this season. He may lack some measurable but he is a player that played big and showed outstanding versatility as well as endurance all season.
Defensive MVP
LB Rodney Gilmore Legacy
Like Mora, Gilmore isn't a player that will intimidate you when he walks in a room and few would even suspect he lines up at linebacker but his play on the field speaks for itself. He is a playmaker that showed he can hunt the ball down and make big plays when his team calls on him to do so. That effort was a key reason the Longhorns are undefeated this season.
A leader and competitor, Gilmore is the heart of the Longhorn defense and has totaled over 300 tackles for the program the last two seasons.
Coach of the Year
Dave Snyder Legacy
Leaving a young Canyon Springs team where he built a foundation, some questioned Snyder's move to Legacy.
With the teaching of basic fundamentals and intertwining heart and desire, Snyder willed his Longhorn to the top over foes like Palo Verde and Cimarron. Snyder's Longhorns proved what can happen when you play to the whistle and never give up until the final whistle blows enroute to an undefeated season.
The Longhorns aren't the biggest, the fastest or the strongest team you will face but they are a team that knows how to win and has kids that can step into bigger roles as needed to keep the train moving.
