Today begins the position focused stories in preparation for the up coming Nike and Elite 11 Camps that will be taking place over the next few months. These camps will be very important for players from Nevada to begin to separate themselves from others around the country as the compete for scholarship offers.
The Nike Camps are free and a key to putting your name on the map in recruiting scene. This year the combine testing has been eliminated from the combines and the focus will be focused more on skill than in the past. Sparq training, position drills and one on one will be the focus of the camps this year as 1000s of player from around the country will vie to catch the eyes of the gurus in the national recruiting scene and become a hot prospect.
The Nike Camps are focused on the invite only status but the there are a few that should be more accessible to the player that aren't on the invite list. Coaches may recommend players to the Student Sports staff but at this point it's a bit late to expect to be on the invite list.
4/15 10am-2pm at USC (Non-invites friendly)
5/19 10am-2pm at Stanford (May not allow non-invites)
6/2 10am-2pm at Colorado (Non-invite friendly)
6/9 10am-2pm at Oregon (Non-Invite friendly)
Quarterbacks that attend the Nike Camps or an Elite 11 competition will be eligible to receive an invite to the prestigious Elite 11 training competition which is awarded to the top 11 quarterback prospects in the nation. This competition also allows the opportunity to get a pecking order for the top quarterbacks nationally and regionally.
Although there will be the opportunity to attend the Elite 11 competition at UNLV, it wouldn't be wise to wait until the competition comes to Nevada if you want to seriously be considered among the Elite 11. Attending a Nike Camp or the Cal competition would be a better option while using the UNLV competition to show improvement from the prior training session.
5/18 4-6pm at Cal
6/23 9-11am at UNLV
It's not to late to get in the Sparq approved training sessions held by Phase 1 Sports to improve your explosiveness and speed prior to the camp season. Group training is being held at the Phase 1 Sports facility Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 7pm located at 6330 W. Spring Mountain Road; Las Vegas, NV 89146
Based off of evaluation and combine numbers, these are the player recommended by Nevada Prep Report for the Nike Camps. For players planning to attend feel free to contact me at willlevi@yahoo.com as I will be at the camps evaluating local players as well and would like to keep an eye out for the attendees.
These are the players recommended by Nevada Prep Report that should currently have invites. (Positions are listed by how players seem to best project to the next level)
