Silverado Head Coach Andy Ostolaza has years invested in the Silverado Football program spending 7 years as the head man before NFL/UNLV great Randall Cunningham took the reigns for two seasons. Now in his fourth season back at the top, Ostalaza has taking the Skyhawks to their first state championship title.

Traditionally a physical program, the Skyhawks wasted no time surging ahead over Shadow Ridge with star junior Donavyn Pellot scoring a short rushing touchdown and hauling in a pass from Brandon Tunnell that covered 71-yards to give the Skyhawks a 12-0 first quarter lead.

The Mustangs would look to go blow for blow with Jaquieze Holland scoring on a short run early in the second quarter but Tunnell would quickly match the score with a toss to his twin brother Bryson Tunnell to make the midway second quarter score 19-7.

The Mustangs would strike back with a Coen Coloma run but Tunnell would match the point again with a toss to speedster Jaden Thrower with the score 25-14 in favor of Silverado.

Shadow Ridge would look to take the momentum late in the half but that decision cost them dearly when the chose to go for a 4 & short yardage at midfield rather than punt. Tunnell would quickly hit a deep strike before surging junior Caden Harris took the ball the final 12 yards on the ground giving Silverado a 33-14 halftime lead.

Silverado would close the third quarter with a 21 point outburst in a 1:34 second span as Tunnell found Bryson once again, followed by a monster defensive strike that ended with Jayland McGlothen in the end zone followed by another Harris touchdown run with Silverado up 54-14.

Coloma would add a touchdown run to open the fourth quarter but Thrower would add another long score 40 seconds later with the score 61-21.

A late score by the Mustangs' Mason White would add to the tally but Silverado was well in the the celebration at that time.
