At Rebel Park, there weren't many big plays in the last session of the Mike Sanford High School Football Camp. Clark, Del Sol, Desert Pines, Cimarron, Silverado and Durango were the local contingent that participated in the final session with all teams showing rust but also showing promise.

Desert Pines looked as though they are a team that will be riding defense next season. The speed and aggressiveness of their defense really stood out on the night. Linebackers Julien Yearwood and Keorris Berry appear as though they will be a lethal combination on defense and the team has the speed to play the edges. With a great group of players surrounding them including star safety Eric Tuiloma, the Jaguars look ready for game day right now.
Offensively, Dalton Leilua arm was something that really stood out as well as the speed and the quickness of the players lining up behind him. Leilua did suffer some accuracy problems as he was putting some heat on the ball but he shows why he is deemed a player with a lot of potential.
A team that looked improved was the Durango Trailblazer and according to a comment from one of their coaches, they are really starting to believe. They were much more physical in the sessions than at any point in last season and they looked as though they have the ability to move the ball.
Del Sol looks to be rebuilding on both sides of the ball with a new quarterback, running back, line and linebackers. Despite the question marks, their running game showed potential with a good mix of power and misdirection. If they can get their quarterback up to speed, they have the potential to be very consistent once again moving the ball.
Defensively, the Dragons had trouble with missed assignment and physicality. How well they will play on the defensive side of the ball is a question mark but they have been in the Sunrise Championship game for three straight years.
The rest of the teams would have to be considered an incomplete grade although Cimarron and Silverado showed much promise. Look for a much more complete analysis to come tomorrow although some player will be missing due to religious obligations.
